Welcome to 2015 the Year of the Goat

The Horse and the Conflict it brought with it are leaving and the Goat year is moving in.  The energy will shift on February 4th according to the HSAI calendar and the official Chinese New Year date which is taken from the Lunar calendar is February 19th.

Each year comes in with 2 elements one known as the Heavenly Stem and the other known as an earthly branch.  These combine to give us an idea about what the overall energy of the year will look like.

The Stem for 2015 is Yin Wood and the Branch is Yin Earth.  We associate these elements the same type of conflict as last year but with more chance of resolution and for shorter periods of time because of the bendable nature of yin Wood.

People born in the year of the OX will be in a year of conflict themselves.  These conflicts are thought to cause illness or accident.  In order to reduce the conflict Oxen can wear a horse talisman to pull the conflict away.  Traditionally the talisman should be worn on a red string around the neck.  People born in the year of the OX were born in 1925, 37,49,61,73,85,97, and 2009.

People born in the year of the Goat are thought to be offending the Grand Duke as the Goat is in the same direction (Southwest) as the Grand Duke Jupiter.  For this reason it is also good to wear a Horse if you were born in a Goat year.  These years are 1931, 43,55,67,79,91, and 2003.

Remember if your were born prior to February 4th use the previous year to assess you birthdate for Chinese Astrology.  It is always good to have a Chinese Astrology (Ba Zi) reading to assess conflicts and to look at the entire chart.

Health implications for 2015 are based on the imbalance of water that will be seen throughout the year.  In the dance of elements the Heavenly Stem of Wood uses up water and the Earthly Branch of Earth for the year will stop water.  This combination makes water especially weak in 2015.  Months where we do see water it will cause water to be unstable.  Weak water combined with the Earth is thought to contaminate cell structures and therefore it is expected to have a high incidence of cancer in 2015.  Also weakness in the kidney and bladder. Eat healthy and reduce sugar intake to balance the water and reduce chance of these illnesses.  Injuries related to 2015 will be more predominant with neck and back.  It may also be easier to break small bones like the ones in the hands and the feet.

Wood sitting on earth is part of the cycle of destruction therefore further conflict can be expected in 2015.  However there is easier resolution to the conflict since Yin wood is like grass and more pliable than the strong wood of 2014.  The Yin Earth of the goat is sensible and has good self-preservation making it again more likely to create problem resolutions.

The Goat is Yin Earth element, but has hidden fire and wood inside which is good news.  This should help with continued economic growth and the optimism that comes with fire should keep the financial industry strong.

Weather patterns that are historically predominant when water is weak are earthquake, disasters relating to earth such as mining accidents, forest fires and other severe weather conditions like tornado and hurricane.

There is also a penalty relationship that is prevalent throughout the year.  Penalty relationships like this one are thought to make accident and stomach issues happen more often.  It is important that people carry or hang car cures to keep them safe because driving is the most likely place to see accident take place.  Ox and Goat are most likely to be affected so do not forget to wear the horse to pull the penalty away.

Preparing for the Chinese New year is very important.  There are many rituals which are easily researched that are historically practiced every Chinese New Year.  One of the most important is to make sure the house is clean prior to the New Year as to welcome the new energy into the home.  Do not vacuum or sweep on February 19th so as to keep the new energy in the home we do not want to sweep good chi away.  It is also important not to have conflict, like marital argument or work argument, do not cuss or get angry.  It is thought that the actions we take on date of the New Year will follow us throughout the year.

It is also beneficial to attach a red paper to your front door depicting what you want to bring in for the New Year. The front door is where Chi enters and therefore very powerful to use on Chinese New Year.  You can create one yourself or purchase one.  On January 29th at 6:30 I will have a class so that we can create front door cures made specifically to override the negative aspects of the year and enhance the positive ones.

Feng Shui is concerned with time and space.  We know that the only constant is change and that is also true with Feng Shui energies. Xuan Kong or Flying Star Feng Shui concerns itself specifically with these changes.  Flying Star follows the cyclic changes and allows to make adjustments to the home.  The idea is to be proactive and catch negative aspects prior to them causing difficulty.

February 4th is the date the stars fully shift.  The 3 star moves into the center.  The aspects for the 3 are typically safe however the cure for the star is the same as the star which was in the center last year. Therefore it may be beneficial to leave the cure you have in the center there.  Wash it thoroughly so that it can be re-energized.  The 5 star which is thought to bring misfortune resides in the West for 2015. Because it is believed to be the most unfortunate star, houses and businesses facing West will be especially subject to the difficulty it can bring.  The cure for the 5 star is a 6 pearl strand, wu-lu with water or 6 pearls, 6 Chinese coins, or a 6 tube wind chime.

The 2 star which can create illness moves into the Southeast this year.  Because of the lack of water being prevalent this year illness for people could be more likely.  It is cured the same way as the 5 star 6 pearl strand, wu-lu with water or 6 pearls, 6 Chinese coins, or a 6 tube wind chime.

The 4 star leaves the center and flies into the Northwest.  The 4 stars negative aspects relate to female problems, lawsuits and affairs.  The 4 star is cured with fire.  You can use a 4 star cure from our store or a crystal diamond on red paper, or a red crystal diamond.

The 7 star which moves into the South also needs held.  Its negative aspects are robbery and losses.  Use a 7 star hanging cure from our store or a crystal lotus with blue ball or a blue crystal.  It can also be held with 3 bamboo in a clear vase.

The 8 star moves to the North and is thought to bring good luck and prosperity.

The 9 star moves to the Southwest and is good for passion and bring good future luck.

The Grand Duke is moving to the Southwest and is cured with a Pi Chu, Fu Dogs or Koi Lun.  Face the cure toward the Southwest to protect the home from the Grand Duke.

To Summarize:  Cures are needed for the Center, Northwest, West, Northeast and South.  Prep your home for the upcoming Chinese New Year, Eat right and reduce sugar intake and watch your health, expect there to be more earth disaster and be careful when driving. If you were born in an Oxen or Goat (aka sheep or lamb) year wear a horse talisman.
